there exists a movie that becomes noticeably affected by aerosol spray or can be gently nudged with a cue tip (be mindful not to damage any pins), and it raises significant concerns.

It's tough to see, but some details slipped through the bottom right corner. It didn't fade away, and the surface stayed shiny once I cleaned it.

Does this material carry a specific color tone? It seems to match the appearance of 'flux,' which is commonly used in soldering. On one side, it might suggest someone has been doing a DIY project with the motherboard, and on the other, it could mean they didn<|pad|>'s not clean the flux—something that could be conductive. Neither of these outcomes is something I’d find appealing.

It appears the device is faintly colored with a hint of orange. If the entire socket is affected while just the socket itself is, it suggests they may have altered the board.

Separate oil can be isolated from thermal compound. If the pin area appears clear, it's likely safe to proceed. You may remove it using Contact Cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.

I tried soaking the socket in alcohol a few times, then drying it with air. Removed all the grease, and it worked perfectly afterward. Appreciate the tips, everyone!
