Is the scroll wheel producing sound typical?
I own a Logitech G203 LIGHTSYNC. The scroll wheel is meant to produce a clicking or stepping sound by design. Is the difference in sound between scrolling up and down considered normal? Are there similar gaming mice available?
Same as COLGeek - I never noticed the two sounds are very slightly different. I'd suggest another possible factor: the way the bearing surfaces are worn so that there is more looseness in one direction. This does NOT indicate excessive wear. Don't worry, be happy!
Other Logitech mice rely on a bent metal wire that slides against detents inside the wheel to create clicks. This model differs by using a wheel with a hexagonal end on the bearing post to achieve the same effect. Although it avoids getting fouled by pet hair like previous designs, I question its durability since the small plastic post may wear out first when scrolling down.
