The video shows an old Corsair CS450M with random loud high-pitched noises after starting the PC. The sound might not be clear in the footage. Listening closely to the PSU fan doesn’t make it louder. I’m considering replacing the fan, but if the issue is with the electronics, swapping the PSU could be safer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Consider flipping the device to check if the noise changes. If the sound improves, it might point to the fan being the issue. Initially, I thought it was coil whine, but the PSU's volume seems excessive for that. Trying the PSU from different angles could help identify the problem.

The situation was actually favorable in the video. I've also attempted to reorient the PSU so the fan faces upward. It seems it might be time to swap out the PSU.

The Corsair CS has a rather poor fan, which is why it comes with just three years of warranty. Upgrading the power supply unit would be a wise choice. The PSU might already be more than ten years old.
