Is the PC monitor experiencing random image loss?
Is the PC monitor experiencing random image loss?
The system appears nearly brand new, with components like the X670e-A, MoBo, Corsair RAM, and Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU being under a week old. The GPU RTX 4090 and Asus Thor 1200w PSU are only a month old. The only outdated part is the water cooler, but temperatures never exceeded 70°C. The UPS is around two years old.
This situation occurred even before my previous setup, which included an X570e, Ryzen 9 5900X, Domainator RAM, and a 3080 GPU.
What transpired is:
Today’s morning came with me waking up at 8 AM, turning on the computer, checking for pending tasks, then going to the toilet. Upon returning, I noticed the PC monitor was blank, while the RAM, motherboard, GPU, and PSU RGB lights were active—suggesting the system was functioning normally.
I rebooted and everything worked until around 4:30 PM. At that time, I was playing "Sons of the Forest" with some videos on the secondary screen. The CPU temperature hovered in the 50s, the GPU in the 70s, and the GPU utilization reached over 90%—a typical load for that game, even if it wasn’t optimized.
I lost my image, but I could still hear the video and control it using keyboard media keys. After a cold boot, everything resumed working properly until about 4:30 PM.
I was also experiencing issues with the second screen while watching "Sons of the Forest." The CPU temperature was in the 50s, GPU temperature in the 70s, and the GPU utilization stayed above 90%, which is normal for that game due to its unoptimized nature.
I lost my video feed, but I managed to pause or restart it using keyboard shortcuts.
I attempted to run the System File Checker (sfc), DISM, and reinstalled Windows two months ago. The graphics drivers were cleaned both for the 3080 and 4090, and I tried flashing the BIOS on the X570e, but it ended badly as described in my previous post. The problem persists.
I considered the SSD might be the issue, but then I wondered if a failed boot would occur.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I’m growing increasingly frustrated and considering giving up on owning a PC.

I’ve removed the monitor temporarily because I’ve had issues with it from the start, and I’m trying to confirm if that could be the cause. My friend suggests it’s unlikely.
This is my current system as listed in the Nvidia App.
For context and to save people from looking backwards, this is your prior thread; Question - After BIOS Flashback in rog strix x570-e gaming the computer just won't start So, I had the suspicion that my mobo was dying, because at some points during the day, it would simply lose video, and sometimes the audio just continued, or it got stuck, and I found out that the Bluetooth driver would get corrupted after that as well I just bought a 4090 and an asus... forums. in there I asked for specs but you didn't follow through. We can only help you if you help us(with info). Since you changed pretty much everything except for the storage, GPU and PSU and cooler, you might want to focus on them. Dropping them on a donor system to see if the issue persists. the only thing that is old is the water cooler What is the make and model of your (AIO)cooler and how old is it? Reinstalled windows not 2 months back Did you reinstall the OS after migrating platforms? 2 months ago you were on the X570 platform. If you did reinstall the OS, did you recreate the bootable USB installer and installing the OS in offline mode? You stated being on an RTX4090, are you on the latest firmware for the GPU? Make and model of your case? You're better off listing your specs like so: CPU: CPU cooler: Motherboard: Ram: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
Previous post
I accidentally damaged the battery holder on the older motherboard, which led me to replace it. That’s why I decided to write a new update (it’s a fresh system, sorry). The PSU and GPU were also new purchases, bought at the end of November.
The Cooler
Cooler Master Masterliquid Ml240l V2 – purchased in February 2023
Reinstallation
I reinstalled Windows Clear. Before making any changes, I chose to keep my files during the last installation. This time, I opened CMD through the installation wizard, used DiskPart to clean the disk, and then installed it. After that, I checked the video output – it still dropped out for about an hour after the reinstall.
Firmware
I’m not sure, so I’ll look it up. Since it was just purchased, I didn’t think about checking the firmware.
