Is the PC I constructed functioning properly?
I'm not from the US and don't have much access to the products recommended on Reddit. For instance, I can't use an artic freezer, have very limited access to dual tower air fans (though they exist but are costly), and only own Gigabyte and ASUS motherboards. My build is mainly for gaming, and as a web developer, I don’t need heavy production power unless it’s possible. Regarding the CPU, all options seem expensive in my country. Here are some prices I found: 7900x3d at $580, 7800x3d at $645, and 7950x3d at $770. The 7950x3d seemed to offer the best value for money, though I might be mistaken. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. Also, I’m curious if my PSU and motherboard setup is adequate—I’m not fully sure about the VRM system. If needed, I could upgrade to an x670. Thank you very much.
The aim of this build was to address the power supply's excessive wattage rating. The supplier suggests 750w, but these guidelines are already inflated.
Sorry, I overlooked that the main goal is gaming, but production limits won’t affect me. I might be able to use this in the future. I think I can switch the PSU to 1000W—would help with the build cost and still stay within a safe range. I’d like to have some headroom so I won’t run into issues.
1000w is still excessive. The headroom issue persists due to psus age and wear, along with other factors. Output drops, transient spikes occur, voltage fluctuations reduce, and various tolerances decrease. An 850w unit would suffice in most cases. The two Ryzen 9 chips only have vcache on one of their CCXs and rely on software/drivers for proper operation. This can lead to problems if the wrong CCX is selected, though some games prioritize faster cores over vcache. If software fails to adapt, it may not always be a problem. I would recommend 7800X3D, but if extra cores are beneficial, go with 7950X3D.
