Hello,

Since upgrading some components a few years ago, I've been experiencing frequent crashes. The situation unfolds like this: I start playing games or browsing YouTube, and suddenly the PC freezes completely. The audio distorts, sparks appear, and everything goes haywire. I’m unable to interact with the system—my keyboard and mouse are stuck, I can’t use alt+F4, and I can’t navigate through tabs. All I can do is press the reset button on my case or wait for the computer to restart on its own.

I’ve tried the following tests:
Heaven
Cinebench
Prime95
Memtest
Furmark
CrystalDiskMark

No crashes occurred during these tests, which seems unusual.

I also performed these actions:
Reapplied thermal paste and reinstalled the CPU cooler (original Intel)
Purchased a new RM850x Corsair PSU and Corsair 3200MHz 16GB RAM
Performed regular PC cleaning
Acquired a new SATA SSD (this appears to have resolved the freezing issue, though it still occasionally freezes and crashes. Now it just stalls briefly before shutting down. This happens randomly.)
Completed a fresh Windows installation after the SSD purchase

During gameplay in Kingdom Come:
CPU temperature: 60-65°C
GPU temperature: 65-70°C
Typical idle temperatures:
CPU: 40°C
GPU: 45-60°C
Logs from Event Viewer are available, but I’m unsure how to upload them. Anyone can assist with that?

I also have Watchdog logs, though there’s no minidump. In my Reliability history, this issue has appeared today.

How long you've had the GeForce GTX 1070 8GB?

I've owned it for about 2 to 3 years, but I purchased it second-hand from someone else, and I don't have any information about how long they had it.

Checked the Unigine settings used and confirmed if everything was set to the maximum resolution. I believe there might be an issue with your graphics card or motherboard. The only other component mentioned is the hard drive, which isn't specified further.

I noticed the environment I used was set up with Unigine:
API: DirectX11
Quality: Ultra
Tessellation: Extreme
Stereo 3D: Off
Multi Monitor: Off
Anti-aliasing: 8X
Fullscreen
1920x1080 Resolution
I didn’t realize I might have undervolted the GPU during the test. My previous configuration was:
1950mhz / .0975volt
Should I attempt it again without adjusting the voltage?
When I purchased my PC, it came with a large HDD, and later I upgraded to a second-hand SATA SSD that had about 67% remaining life according to CrystaldiskMark. These issues began before I installed the 1TB NVMe SSD and the latest 120GB SATA SSD, so it’s unlikely either is the problem.
The old SATA SSD with 67% life was the one running Windows.
I removed that drive, but my PC still freezes. The reliability viewer logs show problems after installing the new SSD.
The freezing occurs randomly—I can watch YouTube or just display wallpaper and it freezes. Most often it happens during gameplay.
Sorry if this is confusing; English isn’t my first language.

I actually tried unigine again for 15 minutes without undervolt, and the pc froze before crashing and rebooting. I don’t think any dump file was created. I logged it using HWinfo, and the temperature readings were: 52.6C Minimum, 73.87C Mean, 92C Maximum. In reliability viewer, the only notable event was an unexpected shutdown at 1:42:02 AM on 1/1/2025 (Event 6008). It seems my GPU might be failing.

Wishing a joyful new year to everyone.
Freezes and crashes often stem from the CPU and PSU; it’s important to clean them thoroughly, inspect the socket, and verify all updates if necessary. I just inquired about the card since many are causing issues even without overheating, and you mentioned you’ve used one before—if possible, try testing with a friend’s card to pinpoint the problem.
Make sure to check all updates for the CPU, GPU, chipset, and more.

Yes, happy new year indeed.
Ah man crashes and reboots or freezes just are not right to get, when all one likes to do is play some games on a pc.

From this perspective, it's hard to determine the issue someone is encountering without having the computer in front of you. We can only guess what might be wrong, assuming the user understands their mistakes.

In this particular situation, event 6008 appears to have been resolved through updates.

I read you, even though you are present, you always have the necessary components to test and the ability to carry out any task.
