Is the PC experiencing a crash during the OS boot process?
Yesterday while attempting to launch BF 6, I received a notification requiring Secure Boot activation. I navigated to the BIOS settings and accidentally enabled CSM by mistake. After trying to boot my PC, it entered an automatic repair cycle, which I eventually reset to default but didn’t succeed. I attempted to use a USB drive with the Windows 10 installer, but it crashed on the ROG loading screen and caused the system to reboot.
When I tried installing Windows 11, the process initially worked, though formatting the disk and creating partitions later caused the installer to crash and trigger a reboot. Every time I launch the Windows 11 installer, it fails after 20-30 seconds. I also tried running the installer without an HDD or SSD, but it still crashed on the ROG loading screen. I attempted to install Windows To Go, which booted initially but then crashed after 20 seconds and again failed on the ROG loading screen. Finally, I tried Ubuntu, but it also crashes during the loading process. I have no clear solution left and even changed the RAM without success.
PC Specifications:
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super
Could be a failed CPU issue. 🤔 Some time back, a fellow in TH forums shared a very similar problem—no OS installations worked, but the PC kept crashing. Topic if you're interested: https://forums. They had an Intel build, but given how close their case is to yours, it’s hard not to think about what was discussed there. And for you, here’s another thought: Don’t forget to mention your PSU details—make and model (or part number). How old is the PSU? Was it new or used/refurbished?
