I own an HP Omen 25L Desktop PC that has been struggling to boot Windows after recent system updates. I never managed to identify the root cause. Now it seems I must investigate further since it is completely non-functional. Previously, I could restart the PC three times and access the diagnostics tool, which always led to a successful boot. However, after installing the updates, it displayed a black screen after the Omen loading and then shut down peripherals—a pattern familiar to my situation. I’ve been away from the computer for years, and much of what I learned then is no longer accessible. What should I do?

The initial question is whether you have all your crucial information stored elsewhere. If essential files are located on the system drive and require restoration, you must carefully consider repairing Windows. There is a good possibility of restoring the system if you obtain an ISO of your current Windows version on another machine and use it to generate a bootable USB drive. Insert the USB into your Omen 25L, configure the BIOS to boot from USB first, and choose the "Upgrade" option as outlined to carry out an on-site reinstallation that preserves all data and applications.
