I own a brand new, almost unused Gigabyte 5070 that is struggling to connect to DP. I’m uncertain about the DP cable version my monitor uses or supports. It functions properly on HDMI, which I’m currently using, but it doesn’t seem to output at full refresh rate—only 144Hz when connected via HDMI. On DP, the connection becomes unstable and the display behaves unpredictably, losing signal after being turned off for a while. I’ve searched for solutions but haven’t found much help. Could this be a driver issue that will resolve itself? Is it related to the GPU BIOS? Might a new cable fix the problem? Or is there another factor at play? Should I consider returning the GPU and purchasing a different model, such as a Radeon 9070XT?

BIOS version: Are you on the latest BIOS?
For your display, can you reset all settings to default in the OSD?

Before installing the RTX5070, did you try running DDU in Safe Mode and removing all drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then manually installing the newest GPU driver via an elevated command—like right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator?
I'm preparing a complete overhaul of my main SSD (2TB Samsung 990 Pro) and reinstalling Windows, though I won't be able to do that until next week. I'm hoping this will address most of the problems.
Regarding the BIOS, I'm using version 7E03v1F (dated 5/7/25), which is the latest stable release and not a beta. I attempted the beta but it caused issues, so I restored it to the previous version. The GPU drivers are up to date.
