I've been attempting to push my CPU overclock for a couple of days. My setup is an MSI Z170A gaming M5 board with an Intel i5 6600K. In BIOS, adjusting the CPU ratio isn't working—I only see Auto, 35, or 8 options. I'm curious if the motherboard itself might be malfunctioning.

Adjusting the multiplier usually requires enabling a specific BIOS setting. If that option isn't active, changes won't apply. I found a solution by using an OC profile, saving it, and then tweaking the multiplier manually afterward. For similar setups, you can follow a similar process—apply the profile, save, and make adjustments as needed.

I attempted to reset CMOS, but it continues to repeat the same action.

I’m hesitant to upgrade the UEFI because it could introduce additional problems. However, there might be other considerations involved.
