Hi, your situation sounds a bit confusing. The presence of a unique startup entry for ‘Microsoft Teams Updater’ on one PC might be due to the installation process or a specific configuration. If you uninstall Teams and the entry disappears, it’s likely just a temporary issue. When you re-install, the entry should reappear. Regarding the broken link you mentioned, it appears to be a placeholder or error page. Removing the broken entry would help avoid any system issues. Let me know if you need further clarification.

If I understand the connection properly, Windows is still attempting to load or start the Teams Updater and is missing a necessary registry entry.
But the description of the link is unclear.
How was Teams removed? Was it a full uninstallation or just removing the .exe file?
Check Task Manager under Startup to see if Teams Updater appears. If present, disable it.
Also review Task Scheduler for any rules or triggers that might launch Teams Updater, which could fail because of the missing registry key.
Avoid modifying the registry.
Many applications, after uninstallation, leave registry entries, which are usually harmless and should be left untouched.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Teams was uninstalled from the start menu, Teams, right hand click and then uninstall.
Yes, there is an entry and I’ve disabled it - it just shows in startup apps still with the broken registry link.
Okay, I’ll leave it alone. I wasn’t sure why on one PC Teams Updater is there and on another it isn’t.
Here is some more information when I click on the path:

Do you think it’s genuine? I downloaded Teams from the official website and the Updater installed but as soon as I uninstall Teams the registry entry isn’t deleted.
