I recently assembled a computer and encountered some quick issues. However, the most important thing for me is that with my Soundcore Q35 headset, Windows doesn't recognize any input sounds or the presence of a microphone when using the wire instead of Bluetooth. I've tested every audio jack on the PC, both front and rear, but nothing worked. Even when trying Bluetooth, I have to physically tap my fingers on the outer shell of the ear cup where the internal microphone is located, just to get a couple of green bars indicating recognition.

I've updated my drivers, audio, graphics, and I'm running the latest Windows 11 update. My MSI MMO is also set to the newest BIOS (not in beta). These headphones don't have the same issue on my iPhone, although the microphone isn't the best. It still captures my voice via Bluetooth at normal volume, but with the wire it picks up even whispering clearly.

Any assistance or additional steps I haven't tried would be appreciated. Thanks.

Based on what you mentioned, the headphones allow using the mic over a wired connection. If that's the case, it seems likely you're not relying on a combo jack on the computer and instead have a standard headphone jack that only outputs sound. You might need to switch to a combo jack, use a USB device with a combo port, or install a splitter that separates the mic and headphone cables for the motherboard.

Based on what you mentioned, the headphones are designed to work with the mic over a wired connection. If this is the case, it’s likely you’re not using a combo jack on your computer and are instead using a standard headphone jack that only outputs sound. You would need to either use a combo jack, obtain a USB device with a combo port, or use a splitter that divides the connection into separate headphone and mic cables for your motherboard.

However, it’s also possible you aren’t using the microphone at all when connected via a wired setup. Many of these headphones only support the mic over Bluetooth, and when plugged in, they operate solely in headphone mode. You might want to check if the cable you’re using is a combo cable by looking for three black rings on the connector—two larger rings for audio channels and a smaller one for the mic. If there are no three rings, the cable likely doesn’t support this functionality, even if your headphones do.

If you have three rings, try confirming the microphone function by disconnecting Bluetooth on your phone, connecting via the cable, and testing with a friend during a call to see which device produces the sound.

Thank you! Yes, your initial point was accurate. I kept looking for more reasons and bought a female Trrs to two male Trs Y splitter cable, and it functions perfectly now. Of course, there were no controls on the apple earbuds, as it seems Apple has developed a unique CTIA connection version that supports volume and control buttons. However, the mic works just fine!
