Hi everyone,
I recently set up my first PC:
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/KbmZWc
Here are the details.
My main concern is performance. I’m playing in 1440p, mainly on Hogwarts Legacy and RDR2. I can’t adjust graphics settings beyond low quality without running into crashes or maintaining around 50 frames per second.
A benchmark test for RDR2 showed 120 fps, but it doesn’t seem to work well in the game. I often restart my computer multiple times each time I want to play RDR2, or else it freezes or stays on the loading screen. For HL, I’m experiencing generally poor FPS and frequent lag.
I’ve read online that upgrading to a 7800xt would improve things, but all my drivers and motherboard BIOS are current. Expo is enabled.
Sometimes when playing RDR2, my CPU gets very hot and reaches temperatures around 90 degrees Celsius.
I usually dislike software problems and haven’t investigated deeply, but I’m not sure what’s causing the issues.
I feel like my setup might be struggling with performance, but I’m not entirely sure why.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!

What BIOS version do you have installed on your motherboard?
Any suggestions? Sorry for the typos; English isn’t my first language.
Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then install the latest driver from AMD’s support site via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
I frequently experience crashes while playing RDR2 where my CPU overheats significantly.
You may want to share images of your build, including a diagram of your AIO setup and fan orientation. Post them on platforms like Imgur or similar sites, and send us the links for review.

Track your GPU and CPU performance while playing games. If the GPU drops below 90% during low FPS and the CPU is overheating and working too hard, then the CPU is likely the bottleneck. This would account for good graphics scores but poor gameplay results. Also, confirm if the voltage is correctly set to 1.35 V. It's unclear whether this Teamgroup RAM is tuned for Expo or XMP, though Expo typically runs at 1.4 V and XMP at 1.35. At 1.35 V with a 6000 MHz CL30 on an AM5 board it may cause instability, leading to freezes and crashes.
