Following my previous update I can run Stalker 2 smoothly on my current hardware. However, in a triple monitor configuration the frame rate falls to 35fps. Would upgrading my graphics card resolve this problem? I manage to play Deus Ex Mankind at 60fps.

Three monitors will increase the GPU load by three times, which is normal.

The PSU brand OP is perfectly fine, and Corsair is a reliable company.
Yes, the PSU isn't particularly high quality—specifically the CX-series, like the 2013 model. It's also quite outdated, around nine years old.
A fresh PSU would be better, especially if you're also upgrading your GPU.

I almost managed to secure a be quiet 650w for about £85, but then there was a flash sale of nzxt for 99 instead of 125, so I ended up getting a c850. I questioned why this happened and now think maybe the box arrived with a small dent in one corner, possibly due to a pallet falling during shipping. It was on the opposite corner from the power supply, so it wasn’t affected much.

It’s wise to stay informed and keep an eye on the market occasionally rather than relying solely on brand locks. For a while, I struggled to break free from the corsair loop and kept returning to the rmx because Evga seemed less available, and the tier list suggested they might be shutting down.

When I received a store page and reviewed all 90 pages with the old psu cultists list, I noticed there weren’t many units available for listing at a fair price. Compared to the US, it’s quite limited. This place is tough—especially with the power supply I got, it feels like a drop in the ocean.

When discussing PSUs, there isn't one brand that stands out as superior. Every brand comes with its own strengths and weaknesses in this category.

Personally, I prefer Seasonic and have relied on their products for the last decade (five PSUs in total across three builds).

EVGA entered the ATX 3.x PSU market a bit later. They offer two models in this range, but both come with just three years of warranty. That doesn’t seem very appealing.

I’m not very familiar with EVGA’s business approach beyond the fact that they ceased GPU production in Q3 '22 and shifted focus to their PSU line (which usually has higher margins). It might be that they’re sticking to established PSU platforms, which could explain the lack of recent innovations.

There’s some speculation online that EVGA is gradually winding down operations:
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/commen...hese_days/

With Windows 10 now discontinued and many users rushing to upgrade for Windows 11 (now mainly for home users, but also businesses), there might be supply issues.

I checked my local store and the PSU selection is quite varied. Some brands charge a premium (like Seasonic PRIME), while others offer more affordable options (such as Montech Century II or Corsair RMx).

Montech Century II has these observations: OCP is rated at 3.3V and 5VSB, with voltage regulation above 3% at 4.87%, but the excursion response in the 200% test is average. Inrush current is notable. Most users don’t seem too worried. Checked inrush current, which refers to the initial power-up and capacitor charging phase—this could trigger circuit breakers despite the tier rating. It lacks strong transient performance, and high OCP caused issues with some older units. Finding a power supply without major concerns was challenging. I chose the nzxt as an alternative after seeing it in a thread, and it cost around £99 on Instagram. The Corsair Rmx 850 is now £119. It was quite an unusual selection.

A 4k screen contains four times the total pixels compared to a 1080p display. With three 1080p monitors, you're working with four times the pixels of one single 1080p screen. This setup suggests using a basic GPU to render only three-quarters of the full 4k resolution. It clearly struggles with intense games such as Stalker 2, yet you manage to achieve around 35 frames per second. Upgrading to a 4k GPU would significantly improve performance, but if you proceed, I recommend pairing it with a larger 4k monitor or an ultra-wide 1440p display to greatly enhance your gaming experience.
