The Appdata/local/unistore directory serves as a location Windows uses for certain files—particularly for programs such as Mail. When your Windows is linked to a Microsoft account, you could receive suspicious or phishing messages in your email inbox.

I’m working with a Macbook, trying to create a bootable drive. It’s a bit unusual—never used PayPal or the Messages app on Windows, and I don’t even have those services set up. The only accounts I use are my Microsoft account for email and OneDrive.

By adhering to these steps, you can remove all synchronization data linked to your Microsoft account, including background images and other elements. This ensures any current malicious or corrupt application data is cleared immediately. However, the data will stay on your device. It’s advisable to perform this action followed by a Windows reinstallation if you want to avoid future conflicts with similar suspicious files or ensure complete removal of any concerning items discovered so far.

You're welcome! I've just created a fresh USB boot drive for reinstallation. I'll follow the instructions carefully and should avoid all problematic files. Thanks for your support!
