Hello,
I’m thinking about getting an i7-7700k and planning to overclock it to about 4.7-4.8 GHz. Do you think a H5 Universal will be sufficient, or should I opt for a cooler with a higher heat sink? My maximum cooler height is 160mm, and I don’t want to choose an AIO cooler.
Thanks in advance.

At 4.7-4.8 GHz it works perfectly. The Noctua NH-D15S stands out with its 160mm height and is clearly the top choice for high-frequency cooling, matching Cryorig's R1. For achieving 5.0Ghz in air, Noctua remains the best option.

At 4.7-4.8 GHz, yes definitely. The Noctua NH-D15S stands at 160mm and is undoubtedly the top choice for such a high setting, matching Cryorig's R1. For air cooling at 5.0Ghz, Noctua is the best option.
It seems even better than the H5? I'll definitely check it out.
Another point: the Noctuna website lists the height as 160mm, but the store I'm trying to buy from shows 165mm. PCPP also mentions 165mm.
Would you prefer to trust the shop or Noctua? I don't want to waste money just to find out it won't fit.
Also: Should I get the second fan for the cooler? It appears it won't change the height but should still boost performance?

Yes, the NH-D15S performs better than H5, and it's also noticeably pricier. The NH-D15S stands at 160mm in height, while the NH-D15 (non S) reaches 165mm, which is why some locations mistakenly report incorrect dimensions.

Yes, NH-D15S performs better than H5 and is naturally pricier. The NH-D15S stands at 160mm, while the NH-D15 (non S) reaches 165mm, which is why some places mistakenly show the wrong measurements. Seems like someone was careless.
😀
Another point to consider: you can add another 120mm fan for better performance. Does it need to be a Noctuna model or can any 120mm fit? Noctuna is quite expensive.
🙁
Appreciate your assistance!

There are some fans available, but only one is needed.
