My view leans toward this being an exaggeration given the positive reception Fallout 4 has received since E3 2015, especially with the recurring "Todd Howard won E3" hype.

Maybe Fallout 4 starts off decent but becomes really great later on.

Fallout and TES both have a dedicated fanbase. People wait for pre-orders until their favorite titles release new content. Personally, I don’t believe you should complain about pre-order hype if you’ve already pre-ordered Fallout 4 because it’s consistently a solid game. This comment wasn’t aimed at you specifically, just in general.

I've already invested $2000 and am planning to add another $300 soon to get ready for Fallout 4. Sounds like a plan.

I support this idea even though I rely on Bethesda to deliver a solid experience. I might not pre-order, but I could wait until release—just like I held off on buying a physical Skyrim copy for my Xbox at 11 PM on November 11th, 2011.
