Hi everyone!
Checking out the setup for a new rig, I’m seeking some thoughts on the specifications so far. Are things balanced? Do any adjustments need making?
Ryzen 9 7900X
RTX 4070
16GB DDR5 6400 MT/S
1TB Samsung 980 NVME
ASUS Strix X670
Corsair RM1000x
Corsair H100i AIO
Any suggestions would be great, since I haven’t been in the building scene much lately!

Looks good with a few adjustments.
1. Avoid the 4070; the 40 series from Nvidia is too expensive, and the RX 7800xt performs better for less.
2. Opt for 32GB (2x16) of RAM since 16GB is now the bare minimum.
3. Choose a 2TB SSD because prices have dropped significantly, making it worthwhile—like the 980 pro 2TB I bought for $129, compared to as much as $400 a few years ago.

1st, PC is never about "balance", it's about what you plan to do with it.
2ed, DDR5 6400 isn't sufficient; DDR5 6000 CL36 versus DDR5 4800 CL30 are almost comparable. If you're going with AMD, I'd prefer something like DDR5 6000 CL30, because for AM5, the UCLK equals the MEMCLK at DDR6000.
3.Corsair H100i AIO is a 240mm air cooler, which isn't enough. You should aim for at least 280mm, like Be Quite Pure's 280mm model since it supports 7900X and has 12 cores. Also, I'm confident you won't be able to refill the H100i, whereas with Be Quite Pure you can. Most AIOs face similar problems—after 2 to 3 years, depending on usage, the cooling liquid evaporates. Until then, if refilling isn't possible, the cooler's performance will drop significantly compared to new.
