Is the black sticker at the NVME drive location necessary to be taken off?
I intend to install a drive here, but I think I have the incorrect NVME model. I'll share a photo; it doesn't mention removal. The square image only provides details about the laptop, which is confusing. I'm referring to the black sticker on the NVME drive slot for the record. I'm struggling to upload a picture and am unsure why it's so challenging. It's just a thin strip in the bottom of the NVME slot.

Where? You've shared this post in the Laptop General Discussion section, please include the laptop's make, model and SKU along with the slot you're using.
However, I suspect there might be an incorrect NVME drive type.
What is the make and model of the drive you mentioned?

Please send a picture of what you mean. You can upload your image to a site like Imgur, and then share the link here so we can review it in this thread.
I'm surprised by the effort needed to upload that image. Probably a SATA NVME drive and a PCI drive, maybe it was a budget option. I don't think there are any instructions to remove it, but it seems the drive might not be reading properly. The Lenovo model listed is the LOQ 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Notebook with Ryzen 7 7435HS, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Luna Grey. The part number is 83JC009CUS-W.
