I recently acquired a 5800X and a B550 Tomahawk. The performance seems solid when RAM reaches 2133MHz, especially with the DRAM indicator on. Booting works smoothly at every other speed up to 2800MHz. The exciting part comes when I set it to 3200MHz and it starts up. Sounds perfect! But if I power it off and turn it back on, it fails to boot. So I’ve had to reset the CMOS multiple times—possibly around 17 times now. I’ve tried everything: different RAM sticks, various slots, dual vs single channel, unplugging and reconnecting, updating BIOS (though the site gives errors), and even swapped out the graphics card for 14 months without any issues. It still runs quietly, but now it makes a loud whirring noise. My motherboard clearly isn’t up to the task, but I’m open to suggestions. Right now I’m off work one day a week just to work on this high-end setup.

When issues persist, refresh the BIOS. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it may indicate a faulty board or a significant failure in the memory controller.

Sleep mode doesn't necessarily cause the same issue, and keeping the PC on for a long time may help avoid it.
