Is the AMD A8-7600 suitable for a small server?
I'm planning to use an old computer for a family PC upgrade this Christmas. I want to repurpose it, not just discard it as e-waste. I'm considering running a Minecraft server myself and possibly a file server for website backups. The machine currently has 1 stick of 8gigs DDR3 RAM and a spare slot on the motherboard, which should allow me to install an identical or upgraded RAM all at once. I'm thinking about installing Fedora Server. Here are the key details:
Motherboard: Lenovo 5B20H34335 M-ATX AMD A78 Socket FM2+ - Grade A
CPU: AMD A8-7600 with integrated graphics
RAM: Random 8GB DDR3 stick
Website: I have a link to the item on eBay
Any advice or concerns? This is my first home server.
I might pass the system over to a relative so they can try their hand at computing, but we already have one with the same APU on their server.

The machine currently has a single 8GB of DDR3 RAM, but the motherboard offers an extra slot, allowing me to install a matching or upgraded RAM unit.
I recommend considering a dual-channel RAM kit, preferably DDR3-1600MHz or DDR3-1600MT/s as a minimum.
Are you using a Lenovo prebuilt?

If applicable, then the maximum RAM speed is limited to 2x8GB DDR3-16000MHz.
Unfortunately, it's a prebuilt unit. I can provide you with the full HWINFO log file if that would help. I don't really have any relatives who would be particularly interested in this kind of project. They're mostly middle-aged and have some drinking issues. If the PC doesn't meet my requirements, I could reach out to a nearby e-waste recycling facility and arrange a pickup. Alternatively, I could list the parts on eBay to cover the costs of upgrading.
