Four weeks ago I started playing Metro Exodus and in a cinematic ad part (30 fps) the PC just shut down. I pressed only the power button, rebooted again and it worked fine once more. This occurred once and I can't reproduce it. The monitor also flickered with NO SIGNAL after shutdown.
This happened after launching the game during intro ads.
I tried to recreate the problem by launching the game 400 times without shutdowns. It happened once, should I be concerned?
My question is: Was it a PSU issue or possibly a game/driver bug?
Power was in-house, I think, and neither the laptop nor the router noticed anything. Also, I have the PC since March 2021, which is not like today.
Since then, after many hours of testing, I haven't seen games or shutdowns repeat:
1. Control
2. Metro Exodus Enhanced (in game and main menu load)
3. Crysis 1.3 remastered
4. Quake 2 Rtx
5. Watch Dogs Legion
6. Cyberpunk 2077
3dmark all tests
8. Battlefield 5
It's strange it happened only once when launching Metro. Heh
Yeah, a single incident isn't enough to dig too deep. I wouldn't stress if anything failed, since if it worked before and after that crash, it's usually about graphics drivers or Windows issues. Just ignore it until you face another problem. If your next issue matches this one, connect the dots.
