I need to install a program to remove spyware like Spybot and Kortona and set up the Windows 7 taskbar so I can do it easily. But I don’t want to repeat this every time. Windows 7 just works perfectly now that Microsoft has updated it. Minecraft also functions well until recently. Edited April 23, 2021 by thrasher_565

Spyware refers to hidden software that secretly gathers information from your device. On a clean install, it’s especially dangerous because it can be harder to detect. Decrapifier and anti-bloatware scripts help remove or block such threats.

just a quick note about the setup—kortona, antivirus, all the mic, camera, settings active. It’s been shown that 10 phones can handle your data. Not sure if 7 is doing this too… maybe I should give up? There are other reasons I can’t recall, and it’s been a while since I checked.

I believe Cortana connects with Edge, which in turn links to Bing. Additionally, during a fresh installation you can choose to turn Cortana on or off.

I use Firefox, so don't disable Bing or Edge unless a fix comes out. Forced updates are another concern.

I prefer Chrome. Updates are forced mainly on day 7; at most 10 you can plan them outside active hours or during the night.

What's up? I've disabled all mods, no programs are running—it just stays off.

It seems the connection might be slow, especially with Steam.

Thanks a lot for the assistance—I suppose you're right. I understand you want to know if your PC is current, even if I don't agree with it.
