Hello, your question about the RJ-45 port is clear. Yes, a 1G RJ-45 port can support simultaneous uploading and downloading at 1Gbps speeds.

RJ-45 itself doesn't control duplex settings. The duplex mode is determined by the ports on either end. With a 1Gbit connection, you're in Full-Duplex, allowing simultaneous upload and download.

You should also consider that occasionally some budget routers are shipped with just 100Mbit Ethernet cables, which actually held only about half the necessary conductors. Despite being full duplex, they operated at a maximum of 100Mbit. You’d typically see half-duplex only when there’s a damaged cable or port.

There is a recently developed device designed to connect at 10HDx (10 Mb/s Half Duplex). It is produced by a reputable firm known for security and environmental control solutions. Its main role is to function as a Zigbee endpoint. In hotels, these systems typically span 1-3 devices per floor. As a network administrator, it bothers me to notice all ports linking at 1000FDx or higher, except for a few exceptions. The device specifications have forced us to upgrade switches that can no longer support half-duplex links or speeds above 10Mb/s—only 100FDx and faster are compatible.
