Is my RAM faulty?

I recently assembled my first PC and noticed it automatically lowers its RAM speed. When I try to force it to 3000MHZ, the system crashes and I need to reset the CMOS battery. I’m wondering if there’s an issue with the hardware or firmware, but I just want to verify before reaching out to Amazon. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ensure RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4. Activate XMP support. Profit noted. Edit: if XMP fails, manually adjust frequency to 3000 and DRAM voltage to 1.35V. No surprise your PC won't boot at 3000MHz with 1.2V.

I turned on XMP and it automatically adjusted the voltage to 1.35, and everything is functioning properly now.
