Hi,
I've been using the fx8350 processor for two years now. Most of the time it's been overclocked, and during those sessions it's usually operated with 6 cores at around 4.6 ghz. Temperatures have stayed consistently below 60 degrees. In my BIOS (even though I couldn't get the exact voltage boosted, only approximate info was given) I could see that the CPU wasn't being overclocked beyond certain levels. With Prime95 I managed to set up a stable configuration at that time. (At that point my PC wouldn't freeze and temperatures remained under 60 degrees).

This is my current PC setup:
AMD fx 8350
Gigabyte-970a-ds3p
16gb ram
HDD 1TB
SSD 250mb Samsung 750 EVO
GTX 1060 G1
Logitech G400
Steelseries Apex 350 tipkovnica
Steelseries Syberia slušalice
Zelman z11
XFX 750

For the past two months my PC has been experiencing frequent freezes, especially under heavy workloads. I noticed it began after installing a 4K monitor. One day I decided to change the BIOS and apply the default settings. I was surprised to find that my PC couldn't progress beyond the Windows loading screen (the default is 8*4ghz). After adjusting the voltage to +0.8, it finally loaded Windows.

Two weeks later I replaced the 4K monitor, and since then my PC freezes much less. However, under Prime95 with the standard BIOS configuration, it still freezes even when using the default settings.

I also want to emphasize that my temperatures are very low now, even at +1.6v on the default fx8350 configuration. It seems the power isn't reaching the CPU effectively.
My PC freezes during Prime95 execution with full default BIOS settings. After increasing the voltage to +0.4 volts, the threshold is reached. Going up to +0.8 causes freezing, while +0.2 results in freezing under Prime95. So the default +0.4 seems to be the correct voltage for my current CPU.

Is my CPU at risk of failure? Did I cause it to degrade through excessive overclocking?

It seems like the CPU is failing or overheating. Since we've already excluded overheating, the issue is likely a shutdown. The intense overclocking isn't the main cause—voltage or heat are more responsible.

It seems like the CPU is failing or overheating. Since we've already excluded overheating, the issue is likely related to dying. The intense overclocking isn't the main cause; it's more about voltage or heat affecting the processor.
