My Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop's mouse and touchpad used to work fine, but lately they act weird sometimes. If I click them, the cursor jumps all over place or gets stuck, then just vanishes completely. I've tried updating the driver and it says everything is okay there. There is also a yellow warning on the PCI Simple Communications controller card that might be related? I checked the driver for this too, but the details say no files are needed or have been loaded, so maybe they never got installed before me. But apart from this mouse/touchpad problem, I didn't face any issues before now.

You may want to check first to see if your laptop needs a BIOS update. You should tell me what model your laptop has and its part number (SKU), plus which operating system you're using.

To update the BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L670-14M running Windows 10, I need to follow these steps: Go into the BIOS menu, find the update section, and click "Check for updates." Then wait for a message saying it's all good.
