Is my motherboard defective?
I have a new PC with an ASRock B450M-Pro4. I'm using a Logitech wireless setup (MK550). The issue is that the mouse becomes unstable and slow when I connect it to any USB port on the motherboard's I/O panel. Sometimes typing stops completely, and after a delay, letters type themselves. It works fine when plugged into the case front ports. I haven't installed an I/O shield yet, but it might not be the cause. What should I do? Ty
I faced comparable problems with the wireless dongle on my Logitech keyboard for my HTPC. It functions perfectly when connected to a USB hub located away from the PC case, avoiding any skipping or lag. I believe interference from the computer or a partially blocked signal is the cause. Try using a longer USB extension cable to move it further from the case and see if that resolves the issue.
The setup sounds fine. The distance between the motherboard and the front case panel works well, and I’m not experiencing interference. I have two more days before I can return the motherboard if needed, but I think it’s just background noise. Should I wait before returning it? Thank you.
I'm not sure if it's the motherboard, do you experience the same problem with the same ports when flipping the PC case for better visibility of the USB dongle? Also, your keyboard and trackpad worked much better after updating the firmware on your device. You can find support info for your Logitech K400 on their website, and it seems your model still has updates available.
