I was planning to replace my graphics card with a 3080 Ti, and everything seemed fine before. When I turned on the computer, an orange Q light appeared for RAM. I’ve tried using spare RAM, but it didn’t help. Could this indicate a problem with the motherboard or CPU?

I’m not sure about that, but I just installed a new CPU and added a RAM light. I had to update the BIOS and then reset the CMOS afterward.

Ensure all connections are tidy, then reinsert the CPU and RAM.

Did you reinstall the previous GPU and noticed any improvement? It might mean you accidentally damaged the board or there’s a compatibility problem. Try reseating the GPU and all power connectors, and it should resolve the issue.

@Rysters Tech agreed, I reinstalled the previous GPU. The system runs fine overall, but I’m still seeing a RAM error even though RAM seems to be working properly. I’m convinced the issue might lie on the motherboard or CPU.

@WoodenMarker I haven’t adjusted the CPU or RAM, and everything functioned smoothly before adding the new GPU.

You don't have to physically interact with a part to slightly shift its position. Sometimes just moving the case can be sufficient.
