I noticed via my monitoring tools that RAM usage can reach up to 5000mghz when running on Windows desktop. I'm not sure if this is typical or if my XMP profile needs fixing (it's the default, and I haven't made any changes).

It seems there might be some confusion. The issue shouldn't occur at 3600Mhz with normal RAM capabilities. It could indicate a reporting error or another problem. Please verify the settings and ensure everything is functioning correctly. What application are you running?

It's usually best to stick with the cables that came with the PSU. You mentioned you changed to a modified version, so replace it and verify.
