Consider if increasing the speed is secure for your specific model.

Generally, testing it briefly won't harm anything, but the outcome relies on how aggressively you push it. You should proceed with caution.

There is always a chance of harming your monitor.
Some monitors seem to speed up after an OC but in reality they skip those extra frames. Others are actually compatible.
Monitor OC doesn’t really make much difference.
Not every monitor can be OC'd.
I usually completely disregard monitor OC.

When using a device beyond its intended limits, the risk of failure and component damage naturally rises.

Monitor overclocking isn't completely safe nor entirely risky. You don't have to push your monitor beyond its capabilities just to match the refresh rate, but doing so can still offer useful insights. The potential danger is worth considering for learning purposes.

The monitoring clocking isn't completely safe nor entirely risky. You don't have to overclock your monitor just because its FPS doesn't match the display's refresh rate, but doing so might still pose some risk if you're not careful. Trying it briefly shouldn't cause damage, but caution is advised.
