I considered trying Tarkov after enjoying looter shooters, but realized it can be pricey. Now that I have some funds, I’m curious about whether it’s worth it given the recent cheating controversies. If you believe it still makes sense, should I choose the standard pack for 52 € or opt for a more expensive one to start with?

It's a tough game to start. It also has several issues, and the recent drop in players suggests they're not doing enough to improve it. I have plenty of other games I'd prefer over Tarkov for the price.

I believe I should skip it. Perhaps later there will be a discount, letting me test it more affordably... or they might resolve some issues, making it worthwhile at 50 euros.

The premium versions mainly offer more storage space and additional slots compared to the standard ones. Unlocking these upgrades requires playing the game, which takes time and resets each wipe. It’s unlikely you’ll gain an early advantage if you start with the cheaper option; you’ll fall behind players who have better equipment and experience. Cheating remains a significant issue in Tarkov, with the current wipe system allowing loot to be quickly moved into cheaters’ inventories via vacuuming.
