Is it typical for the RX580's power consumption and GPU activity to change?
Hello, I purchased an RX580 at a garden sale (one of those well-known American items). It’s very clean and functions properly. I changed the thermal paste and performed several tests. During these tests, the graphics card’s power consumption kept changing. Normally it draws around 140W, but it drops to 90-100W for a few seconds before returning to 140W repeatedly. At the same time, while running benchmarks, the GPU usage fell from 100% to about 50%. When the system is idle, the usage that was at 0% suddenly spikes to 100% for 3-5 seconds and then returns quickly. Is this a typical long-term problem for an older RX580, or could it lead to serious system failure?
When using Chrome, your browser consistently identifies your GPU for extended periods.
During the testing phase, there were no applications running in the background, not even Chrome installed on my machine.
