Specifications include an Intel i7 6700k, an ASUS Maximus VIII hero motherboard, Corsair 2 stick vengeance 2*8 GB LPDDR5X at 3200MHz, Corsair 1 stick vengeance with 8GB at 2666MHz, AMD R9 380 4GB, a 120GB SSD, a Corsair H60 water cooler, an RMx 850 watt power supply unit, and an XMP profile enabled. I am new to overclocking and successfully boosted the processor to 4.5 GHz with a core voltage of 1.29V. However, during a Realbench stress test, the voltage increased to 1.34 and the core temperature reached 75-85°C. Is it safe to use these configurations for regular gaming sessions or extended periods? Additionally, with XMP enabled, does the third memory stick prevent achieving the 3200MHz frequency? Please advise.

Your temperature is fine, no need to worry. Manual voltage is suggested for higher overclocks to improve stability, in your situation use adaptive. Your voltage is typical for 4.5GHZ, and I also assume that LCC 5 will slightly reduce the core voltage compared to what it's set in the BIOS.

Are you operating in adaptive or manual mode? For regular operations, select manual mode. Stress tests require manual mode.

What voltage mode are you employing, adaptive or manual? Manual mode is for stress testing, adaptive mode for regular use. I'm using manual mode and have set the voltage to 1.250 v - LLC level 5 - 4.5 Ghz, it runs smoothly: stress test by realbench 75-84 c, gaming 55-78 c. Is this satisfactory?

Did you manually set the voltage or did the motherboard handle it automatically? I'm using manual mode with a voltage of 1.250V, which is set to LLC level 5 at 4.5 Ghz. I made several changes in the UEFI, including disabling "External digi power control > VRM spread spectrum" and enabling "Internal cpu power management > intel speed step." The CPU VCCIO voltage is 1.100V, and the system agent voltage is also 1.100V. After a stress test with Realbench (78-84°C for 20 minutes), gaming at 55-70°C with some spikes worked well. Is this approach suitable? Should I stick to manual or adaptive mode for daily use and gaming? Thanks.
