Is it safe to overclock the GPU if the temperature remains low?
My temperature is generally between 60 and 65 degrees across all the games I play. Overclocking seems to be fine, and my temperatures stay stable. When idle, it drops to around 38 degrees. If I use core voltage and still have a good temperature, does that affect how long my GPU lasts? Thanks for the answer.
Your temperatures are normal. The CPU will safeguard itself; if temperatures rise too much it will reduce performance.
CPU durability can exceed 20 years, but significantly shortening that would require extremely high, risky voltages.
Overclocking doesn’t necessarily mean increasing voltage—your current stock settings are solid at 3.8/3.9GHz with 1.2v+.
They’re now running at 4.3/4.6GHz at 1.108v and 1.119v.
The goal of overclocking is to achieve maximum speed while maintaining the lowest possible voltage, which keeps temperatures down and stability intact.
I recommend diving deeply into overclocking research—understand its pros and cons, step-by-step guides, practical tips, and what not to do. Focus on informed, experienced guidance rather than casual attempts.
