Is it safe to connect a Schuko extension cord with one Schuko outlet to a UPS?
Is it safe to connect a Schuko extension cord with one Schuko outlet to a UPS?
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a new UPS (NOD U-2000) for my computer and the rest of my system, which consists of an RX 6950XT, a R7 5800X3D, 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM, a 5TB SSD, a 14TB hard drive, two monitors (one 32" and one 25"), and 2.1 Edifier speakers.
There’s a concern: my secondary 25" monitor is too far from the UPS to connect directly. I considered using an extension cord, but I’ve heard that using extension cords with a UPS isn’t safe—though those warnings were about plugging the UPS into the cord instead of the other way around.
I’m asking: Is it safe to connect an extension cord straight to one of the UPS’s rear sockets to power my second monitor?
For reference, the UPS is connected directly to a wall outlet, and the extension cord is plugged into one of the rear sockets. It’s not a major issue if the secondary monitor isn’t connected, but I’d prefer to link it up if possible.

There is one problem: my secondary 25" monitor is too far from the UPS to plug in directly.
It's not the end of the world if my secondary monitor isn't connected to the UPS, but if possible, I'd like to connect it.
Have you considered moving the UPS a bit closer to your monitor so you don't need an extension cord?
Information about the UPS and the Extension Cable:

Is this the rear of your UPS?
Are you referring to the extension cord?
the rear of my ups is this link
and the cable is this one
edit: have you considered moving the UPS a bit nearer to your monitor to avoid needing an extension cord? Unfortunately, I can't move either the UPS or the monitor.
I power my computers using an extension lead at the end, connecting 12 individually switched sockets into my 1500VA APC UPS. This setup supports 5 PCs, 3 monitors, a broadband router, firewall, 10Gbe switch, and a printer. I don't run more than three PCs at once.
Some Schuko extension leads mention "UPS" in their description, but most lack a Schuko plug at the end that fits the UPS.
I discovered one with a Schuko plug rated for 16A and 250V:

For a professional 19" rack mount system paired with a 3000VA UPS, consider this option:
