I'm testing with a GTX 1070 paired with an Intel i5-12400F and 16GB RAM at 1080p. I'm planning to upgrade this Friday and am considering the 3060 Ti versus the 3070. My main games are Fortnite, Code, and BF2042. Will the 3070 be too much for my setup or is it a great choice? I think it could handle 1440p in the future, though I'm not sure if it's worth it right now.

Absolutely, 3070 looks like a solid choice for 1440p. It should match your 2080ti well and keep up the performance.

It wouldn't seem necessary at all for any logical resolution. I run a 3090 for 1080p. The best way to achieve solid frames is with code and 2042. It works fine on 1440 in an older version of the software.
