Hi, I'm having issues with my OLED 60Hz 4K screen on the Alienware M15 R2. It's no longer functioning properly, showing green lines over a fully black display. I've already taken it apart and removed the screen from the laptop cover. I see options for replacing it on AliExpress and eBay, offering screens with 144Hz and 300Hz speeds. Can I simply swap in a 300Hz 40pin screen without any problems? Will the motherboard support this change?

Scroll down this page and check the listed part numbers; just my note, you're missing resolution for the high refresh rate. It seems to be trading an OLED screen for an IPS one, which feels like a step back.

Yes, it's accurate, but for me it makes sense because the OLED only supports 60hz and I usually prefer more shooter games now, so a 300hz display would suit me better. But will the motherboard support it? The main reason I inquired was that this laptop comes in three versions: one with 300hz, one with 4K OLED at 60hz, and another with standard FHD 144hz. That's why I considered switching to the 300hz model.
