Is it possible to overclock using the standard cooler?
Hi, I have a PC with an Intel Core i5-2500K and a stock cooler from an i3-2125. I'm wondering if the stock cooler can handle overclocking, aiming for around 3.8 or 4.0Ghz. I don't think it's a good idea, but I'm not sure. Also, my motherboard is an ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3.
It's not the case.
You may attempt it, but monitor the CPU temperatures closely.
