Is it possible to experience low frame rates in Minecraft on a high-end PC?
Hi everyone. I’ve been facing this issue for a long time and I’m not sure what’s going wrong.
With my Intel® Core i7-10700KF and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (16 gb RAM etc.), I’m confused about why I’m getting such low FPS.
I installed the Minecraft launcher yesterday. Today, after launching the latest version, creating a new survival world without mods, and using the default settings, I get around 80 FPS on average—what’s going on?
Then I changed some settings and increased my RAM from 2 to 8 GB. The result is 140 FPS. How much of an improvement is that?
I just want to enjoy my 240 Hz monitor. So the question is: Is it normal for Minecraft to run so low on my specs, and if not, could you help me with this problem? Thanks!

PD: I thought setting the render distance to 18 might help, and this is what happened:

Fr, is this normal?
I will take screenshots of every game I play. Remember, I use the lowest graphics settings for optimal performance, even though I understand the specifications of my PC. If you have a game you'd like me to test, feel free to let me know.

I observed this in the Userbenchmark test. Does it indicate an issue with those components?
Thanks in advance.
It seems like you're noticing the FPS numbers in the games you play are higher than expected. You might want to try reinstalling Minecraft and checking online for average FPS on similar hardware. Does this indicate an issue? I don't see any included notes or flags about the components.
I dont know if reinstalling minecraft would do something as i installed it from the microsoft store.

Does Minecraft run on the 970 EVO or the 120GB Kingston drive? Also, look at your CPU temperatures. What type of motherboard are you using?
Minecraft generally performs well even on basic hardware, though it's limited by single-core CPU performance. The main problem seems to lie with Java, optifine configurations, or other settings—not the machine itself. There are likely discussions on forums or YouTube channels addressing this issue, but many threads end up unresolved because they're not getting much attention.
I attempted on Reddit but didn't receive any replies, which is disappointing since it's hard to request a game with poor FPS on a high-end PC while others perform well. I'm not sure if anyone here can assist.
it would be quite straightforward to identify.
you can look at the game's shortcut settings, examine the provider-distributor drive's locale, or perform a basic search for the game's executable file.
