I just started this project because of a few things I don't fully understand yet. I bought a new RAM stick to upgrade my old laptop computer. But the laptop only has one slot available for memory. My laptop model is an Acer A315-58. This was my very first laptop, before I had ever owned a regular desktop PC. Back then with a PC, it was easy to add more RAM; I just took out the old sticks and put in new ones. But here at this laptop, when I try to insert a stick of memory, it won't turn on at all. The screen turns completely black. There are no error messages popping up, no beeping sounds, or any other strange noises. I checked the website, but the RAM looks perfectly compatible with my machine. The model number is Acer Aspire A315-58. It has an 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor running at 2995Mhz. My new memory sticks are Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMMs. I don't know how to fix this by myself, so I'm going to ask here first before paying a stranger to come and look over it for me.
Do you know what model number this Crucial part is? It should be CT16G4SFRA32A right? Is it fully plugged in and locked down?
