Is it possible for this game to work on Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V?
my system includes an i7 920, 12 gb of ddr3 ram, asus rampage 3 extreme, a coolermaster masterwat lite 600 watt, and a corsair aio cooler with a 120 mm single fan. it currently has an hd 5850 1gb. i’ve heard recommendations to overclock the i7 920, but i’m new to this and don’t know the process. it’s my only cpu. can it handle battlefield 1 without overclocking? would it even be competitive for battlefield v? i prefer medium to low settings, aiming for around 40+ fps is ideal.
Getting the 7970 3GB works fine for playing both games easily. A CPU overclock isn't essential to reach 40fps, though it could help. You should be able to achieve 40-60fps with this GPU.
Volkgren:
You're getting the 7970 3GB, right? You should be able to play both games. I don't really know the exact framerate or settings, but you should manage around 40fps if you adjust some options.
I probably wouldn't stress over overclocking the CPU.
Thanks for the reply. I'm fine as long as it's 40+ 🤣
That 7970 is only 50 euros, so it's a great deal. I got both games with my original preset. That's really cheap even though I don't need it. And those games are fun, so why not?
Thanks for responding. Have a nice day.
according to game-debate.com you are able to play battlefield 1 in minimum graphic mode. your processor is too low for this game. your system requirements report for battlefield 1 suggests that upgrading could help, as suggested by a friend. your lga 1366 socket also supports this xeon processor, though the exact model isn’t known. a six-core model would likely work.
It should be possible to obtain BF1 at a very low cost and test it out. It might perform poorly, but if it’s not worth it, you can simply return your money:

Unless there are significant game and driver updates, it’s unlikely you’ll run BFV at all.
