Is it necessary to restart for a cold boot unless you're modifying the hardware?
I own the Gigabyte B85M-D3H rev 1.2 motherboard, Corsair VS650 power supply, an Intel i7 processor, and 16 gig DDR3 memory. All components have been verified through Windows 10, which reports everything is fine. The issue arises after a power-off: the PC won’t boot to the post screen, though it does boot from sleep or standby. Changing hardware—like adding or removing RAM—resolves the problem. I’ve removed the GPU and other cards, reduced memory to 8 gig, switched to an RGB display, but the outcome remains unchanged. I’ve also used new memory sticks. Windows 10 is updated with the latest drivers, and the BIOS has been flashed with the newest version. I’m considering the motherboard or power supply as the likely culprits. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
