Is it beneficial to establish a temperature threshold of 75°C on this laptop using the helper tool? Exploring options to enhance cooling efficiency and reduce power consumption. It appears such adjustments might lead to unexpected outcomes. When temperatures exceed 30fps, the CPU and GPU fans become overly active, causing thermal readings around 80°C. Thank you

Have you considered upgrading the thermal pads and paste to a higher quality option? Have you checked the vents for any blockages from dust or debris? Have you explored undervolting the GPU? I mention the GPU because you can't undervolt that 6800HS unless you use the right SKU for your laptop.

Yes, this is the laptop I own, it has the same CPU and a 3060 6GB GPU. I’m only able to make minor software adjustments because I can’t handle technical changes on the device itself. My understanding of these things is quite limited, and unfortunately I’m limited to software solutions only. My luck with this laptop might be short-lived if I accidentally touch it or its components, especially considering the risk of electric discharge or short circuits.

Regarding dust, it appears to be a brand new laptop with no visible dust outside. I used a cooling pad, but it connects only via USB port, which is limited since Intel’s USB-C Thunderbolts are expensive and I don’t need them. That means I have two USB ports plus two Thunderbolts, but I can’t use three external SSDs due to this limitation.

On the GPU side, there are default clock/MHz sliders in the Ghelper tab. I changed only the temperature limit to 75°C and enabled Dynamic Boost up to 5W by creating a new Ghelper profile. In that profile, I also reduced CPU power to 15W–15W–25W as some YouTube guides suggested, which seemed helpful but I need to verify the results now.

If you don’t mind me asking, in technical terms, does setting the temperature limit actually help with cooling?

The present heat levels aren't causing concern. 'Save power' isn't a concern here. Considering the entire home's electricity consumption, skipping one meal likely uses less power than the minor increase in wattage over a year.

I mean not the regular Firefox YouTube version, but gaming above 30fps is a major problem. It seems like when fans quit the game, temperatures drop suddenly to around 70-75°C spikes, then return to about 40°C. But since it's winter now, that might explain the higher reading. In summer it stays around 50°C. I often play games daily with low graphics settings and 1280x720 resolution, but keeping the frame rate above 30fps still causes this issue. It almost feels like the temperature limit isn't being respected, and the graphics settings don't help with cooling when playing at higher speeds. OBS recording makes it worse, and its settings are also 720p at 30fps.

Spikes at 75C are not a concern.
Allow your laptop to function normally. Address issues only when they become real, not just imagined.

I understand your concern, but daily use and play are common and don't necessarily shorten your lifespan. I can't own everything perfectly or have items repaired often, but that's not the point.

These components are designed to operate continuously at that temperature.

UPDATE: Running this laptop of mine at Balanced power plan via god send Ghelper with only AMD Radeon Graphics (that pesky power hungry RTX 3060 turned off) is AWESOME.
Granted it is winter now but thermals and temps are freaking awesome right now. Chassis plus even power plug is cooler than ever before.
For anyone wondering if to uninstall ASUS built in software to manage their laptop, do yourself a HUGE favour and download ghelper. Both of your wallet and laptop will thank you.
(Plus turn off CPU boost as well on ghelper, no need, AMD APU are fast enough)
