The latest update in April 2023 is unrelated to the earlier version from October 2015. Bill Gates has also stepped down as CEO, a position he hasn't held for several years.

It's understandable to feel confused. But in the situation you described, MS seems to be suggesting that no new versions like Win10, 11, or 12 will come after Win10. It wasn't about the specific release of Win10 1908 being the final version. Just remember this thread and don't let it get diluted.

In addition, this was not a statement from Microsoft's official policy. It was a remark from one particular developer. The question arises because if Windows 10 was meant to be the final version, why is Windows 11 still available? The reason lies in the fact that Windows 10 was never officially recognized as the last version.

Thanks for the feedback. What led me to believe such a simple developer statement could spark such strong reactions is unclear. I appreciate you pointing out my misunderstandings—I had different ideas and limited knowledge. For me, Windows 10 is the current "latest" version that’s important for now and possibly the next couple of years. Only if I need software only on Windows 11/12 would I reconsider. I’m not really in the right place for this discussion. Please forgive any disturbance.

If someone mentioned "Bill Gates farted", there would be countless 'news articles' about his digestive problems.
Skip the 'version number'.
I run Windows 10 on some devices and Windows 11 on others.
The actual difference is minimal.
