Is it a good time to purchase an Intel NUC 13?

I saw some YouTube videos about NUC and there are many about Intel NUC 13.
So far, the newest release is available. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I understand that Intel stopped supporting it and handed it over to Asus. It seems Intel is ending its NUC line, but this small PC will continue.
My question is: Should I buy an Intel NUC 13 now or wait until the full transition to Asus?
I'm asking this to take advantage of the upcoming holidays.

Thanks! It looks like series 13 is currently the newest version available.
My .02 suggests that unless Asus makes a major change in pricing, this product will always be priced higher than its value. I only buy these with Intel when they offer a really good deal, like on sites such as hoot. Even then, it often lacks memory or storage, adding extra costs to get it working. (not even including the operating system).
I believe it’s worth looking into some smaller form AMD PCs of this type. The prices are usually more competitive. Of course, I haven’t used any myself except for basic setups for others, but I know several members here use them regularly.
A friend uses older i3 and i5 models for tasks like setting up a TV "smart" system, placing one on the shelf as a Plex server with external drives. It’s also well hidden, which is another advantage. The only visible parts are a USB dongle and a cord.

I'm just checking if AMD addressed the overheating issue?
I've heard it tends to get hotter than expected, especially with these mini-PCs... this is something I care about.
My aim is to buy a reliable mini-PC for development work, possibly using VirtualBox or installing Java/Spring directly.
