Is i7 9700k Good?

I was expecting it to have 8 cores and 8 threads. Would it last 4 to 5 years? It seems like it might already be limited. I only need it for CPU-intensive games like Stormworks and Minecraft, with Discord and Chrome running in the background. If anyone has suggestions, I’d appreciate an GPU option. Thanks!

The only 9th generation CPU I suggest is the 9900K mainly because of its hyperthreading capabilities. The 9700K lacks hyperthreading and has fewer cores, which I consider less appealing.

5th generation Intel processor in a laptop equipped with its own GPU operates between 70-80°C. It functions optimally at around 3.6GHz for approximately 20 minutes before overheating. After that, it drops to 2.7GHz and maintains consistent usage at 60-70% even after reinstalling Windows last week. Upgrading the CPU isn't possible in a laptop except for special gaming models or very old machines. You'll need to purchase a different laptop or switch to a desktop.
