I plan to purchase it for multiplayer play in GTA Online, but I worry about progressing since there are too many high-level players who will eliminate me without reason. The DLCs are also enjoyable, especially the new one featuring executives and criminals.

Only when there are people around makes heists risky if you're unsure about them. You really need to hope they understand what they're doing, or you'll be losing your chance.

HELL. ABSOLUTELY. I'm a top-tier player (Level 154) and frequently encounter lower-ranked players, especially those in the early stages. GTA does a solid job of keeping the nuisances away from the calm crowd, which is why the karma system comes into play when you harm others. Those who frequently kill others tend to cluster with more aggressive types. If you're trying to stay peaceful, you'll usually interact with more friendly, cooperative players where you can enjoy races or leisurely cruising together.

For me, the "cancer" in GTA V has never reached dangerous levels. MP was also really enjoyable, and you can still access the passive omd if you prefer. GTA V is definitely worth the investment, especially when playing with friends.

You actually get the game! It's really solid. On multiplayer you'll face top-tier players who might try to eliminate you, but you can switch servers if needed.

there are many hackers, but they're generally harmless, so it's a good idea, it's quite enjoyable

They match your playing style to connect you with others who share similar interests in comparable servers. Since you're above level 100, encountering lower-level players in higher-tier servers is typical for a calm player.

Thank you for your response. I'll check the prices in G2A and then make a decision.

You should definitely have friends who can join you. If not, purchasing it is still an option—it's enjoyable, and you'll encounter some delays occasionally. Just remember names and keep hoping they won't return when you move to a new area. (Back in my day, there was no way to banish a player from a lobby, even as the host. What a surprise!) Playing with others unlocks certain achievements that you can't achieve alone. Some milestones require completing them in sequence without mistakes, and failing them means no bonus cash—potentially millions. These rewards are worth the investment if you want them. You won't find them with random players. If the payout remains steady, expect around $1,000 every 45 to 60 seconds during regular missions. This should help when buying a high-value vehicle. Heists offer bigger rewards, but they demand teamwork and skill, making them harder than solo play. Many players stick to single-player content, even with mods like FOV adjustments that could risk bans. I've used FOV mods for years without issues, but the chance of getting caught still exists. One thing to note: most mods are designed for solo experience, so online play carries more risk. If you're interested in the car aspects, it's a big part of the game—about half the missions involve driving. Upgrading your vehicle is tough, especially when others have heavily upgraded cars. The best approach is to organize short races with friends, using a quick track to speed up progress. Even then, it takes a lot of time to reach the top tier. Good luck if you manage to get any upgrades!
