Is GPU Dead?
Holy. just cleaning the GPU and discovered that the MOSFET and the GPU black area are covered in dust and cotton ðŸ˜
consider adding additional filters to the case in any area where dust or debris might enter.
in the past, for older systems I kept a big roll of very fine mesh screen. I would cut out sections as needed and place them in spots with openings or where the mesh had too large holes.
I resolved the issue by reverting to an older driver, particularly the 497.29 Driver. It appears that newer versions cause my screen to behave strangely. Now it functions properly, though I will keep an eye on its performance over time.
We now have a situation to address. The main concern is how long the card has been heating up. Running the GPU at high temperatures accelerates the drying of thermal paste. This process also increases stress on the power supply. Using MSI Afterburner, adjusting the fan curve to 65-75% might help stabilize performance. You can find more details here: https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards. If this doesn’t bring stability, you may need to explore further solutions. I’d consider disassembling the GPU and repasting it if necessary, as thermal pads are unreliable. Before proceeding, it’s wise to test the PC with a borrowed power supply or try the card in another system.
