I have a group of friends who have played over 1000 hours in the original Destiny. They say the second version feels dull for advanced players since hard mode isn't available right away and the storyline seems uninteresting. However, during high-level raids it becomes really engaging. They mention that the first game had its flaws but Bungie quickly enhanced the experience based on player feedback.

I own it and really enjoy it. Although I don’t believe the current price is justified. It might be worth around £30 instead of £40. Still, I think it’s an investment since the game will improve over time. The community manager mentioned it’s from a broader context, but he made an error by sharing it in the Bungie weekly update. It’s clear the developers are focusing on fixing the endgame. To be honest, I’d keep it if Borderlands 3 arrived soon.

It varies, just like in life. I tried all but one expansion of Destiny 1 and completed everything in Destiny 2 on PS4. The game is quite enjoyable and engaging. The mechanics are solid, and it's rewarding to earn items that boost your abilities. HOWEVER, after finishing the main content, there aren't many additional activities, even though Bungie claims significant updates compared to Destiny 1. You'll have to wait for new expansions at the moment. I get it—PC only lets you purchase the game with expansions, which makes the choice trickier. On the other hand, if you enjoy it, you'll definitely want to try the expansions. I wasn't much of an influence, but I'm happy to answer any questions you have.
